Subject: Any new allergy meds on the market?

I seem to be getting immune to Zyrtec although I have only been taking it for a few months. I am immune to Claritin and Allegra didn't work well for me. Is there anything new on the market for allergies?

In the past year or so I have seen tons of new ones come out but I am not sure how many are those that work for everyone or not. I end up having to take 'special' ones most times as many of the OTC's for allergies do diddley for me.

It seems like those are all made of something similar that your body just eats up now. Have you checked to see what is the strongest OTC you could take or speak with your doc for an Rx?

Check with your pharmacist. Also, the tolerance that you build up for a drug will subside with time. So as you run out of options you might want revisit the first medicine that you tried and that stopped working for you.

If you've had trouble getting oral antihistamines such as Zyrtec, Claritin, and Allegra to work. I would recommend talking to your doctor about getting a prescription for a steroid nasal spray. If you do this, ask for Flonase-it works just as well as other products, and because it's available as a generic it will be much more affordable.

I have had doctors recommend for me to take a nasal product. In fact, when I was much younger I was on one called Vancenase for a time. I'm the one who has vetoed the nasal sprays ever since because I hated taking it so bad. It burned my sinuses whenever I did it and kept getting sore throats.
