Subject: Ant Bites

I was working in the yard today and ended up sitting on an ant nest. I have bites all over my legs and arms and just can't get them to stop itching. I've tried Benadryl and that helped a bit but didn't last and I was very tired. Does anyone know anything that would work?

I would call my doctor. He might know of an ointment that you can put on it. You can even ask your pharmacist for something but I'd call my doctor first. I don't think the itching will last for more than a day or so.

You sat on it? Ouch. I would imagine the soap they make for poison ivy might help draw out the toxins from the bites as well as possibly some other type of anti-itch medication. I've never had an ant bite itch, burn maybe from fire ants but not itch. Try taking some benadryl orally to help prolong the results from topical treatment.

I am only aware of antihistamines and corticosteroids to ease the irritation. Have you tried some cold compresses as well?

The good news is that this morning it is much better. I had to take more benadryl before bed and that along with a shower helped me get to sleep without too much of a problem. Just a little bit of an itch this morning.

Glad to hear your getting etter. I hate ant bites luckily we have not had as many ants this year as we had last year.

Try Bite Blocker. It has all natural ingredients needed and it is DEET free. It will keep the ants away which is better than treating the bites. Prevention is always better than cure. Read http://acnemine.com/Swelling.htm to find out more.

If you get that again or any kind of itchy rash you could try an aveeno bath. It works great for chicken pox, poison ivy, etc.
