My allergies have been terrible this year. Every time I spend any significant length of time outside I start sneezing. And if I try to pull up weeds or mow the lawn I end up with itchy swollen eyes for a few days, even after using eye drops and taking Benadryl and Claritin. (yes, both) The sneezing will stop, but there is something in my yard or in the air that is really affecting my eyes this year. When I was a small child I had that problem rather frequently, but as an adult this is the first year I have noticed it. |

I went through the same thing. As a kid mine were horrible then one year they seemed to vanish only to turn up 20 years later. It is not fun!!! Be careful mixing your meds like that. Do you like honey? If you can find some local honey and have some every day it will help after a while. Chris |

There is also mold and mildews that affect people and their allergies, so your problem might to even have to do with plants growing. There might be animals that regularly cross your lawn who leave fur or dander around and that can make you have all the symptoms of allergies. Maybe it's time to go to a specialist who can test you for everything and get you on some sort of medication that would permit you to once again enjoy the outdoors. |

My allergies seem to be increased in warmer and drier weather. Perhaps you should go for tests to find out what it is that you are allergic to. I once knew a lady who thought she was allergic to her pet cats, but eventually she saw her doctor and found out she was allergic to chicken and poultry meat. |

My husband had a bad flair up of allergies last year. He usually gets a small case in the spring, but last year was bad. He was out on Allegra and his symptoms went away pretty quickly. |

I have very bad seasonal allergies that have gotten worse as I have gotten older. I had been on Claratin but that recently became ineffective. I visited my doctor and she recommended that I switch to Zyrtec. It has different active ingredients that many find more effective than Claratin. I haven't started it yet, but I will keep you posted. |
