Subject: | Alcohol and breast cancer | |
Studies are now showing that alcohol can be directly linked to breast cancer. The test they have done is showing that women who have at least one drink per day is at risk 7% higher than their non drinking counterparts. http://health.usnews.com/articles/health/2008/04/14/health-buzz-breast-cancer-and-other-health-news.html |

I wonder if this applies to certain kinds of alcohol or all in general? I thought a glass of wine a day was supposed to be good for you? |

Right-but I think in this case it is a matter of weighing one risk against another. Red wine reduces SOME risks, but not all. And it taxes other systems in the body so it doesn't surprise me that alcohol-a toxin-can increase the risk. |

A different study can be quoted that will support almost every different opinion, and they come out with another study almost every day. Drinking certain wines are also said to stop heart attacks. Not drinking at all has been said to be bad for you too. I remember that because I don't drink at all and I was annoyed that I was doing wrong even then. Maybe just forget the studies and live your life well and with moderation. All the studies don't necessarily apply to all of us, so it might be best to just forget them. |

I didn't knew that breast cancer is caused by alcohol, though I am not a person who has alcohol so I don't think I should be so much worried about risk. |
