Subject: | Agoraphobia | |
I know there are anxiety meds and other drugs used to try and help treat people with this problem as well as conditioning, but do they really ever help? If a person finds themselves starting to narrow their comfort zone can it be reversed before they get to the point where they won't leave the house? |

I have heard of a few people who have gone through talk therapy and have pretty much gotten over their fear of crowds and wide open spaces. They are taught how to calm themselves down before they get a panic attack. They are also helped to become used to going out with the help of their therapist. I know that drugs are used to help people with agoraphobia, but there are other ways to also get over it that really does work too. |

I have always thought this must be one of the worst phobias to have, I feel so sorry for people who have it. |

Drugs may help, but I think therapy and talking about the problem would also be beneficial. I agree with Louise31, it must be a terrible thing to have to live with. |
