Repeat Vaccines for Kids

What do you think or know about the risk of children being vaccinated more than once?
My childrens medical records were lost and there is no way to verify what shots they had so I have to take them in and get them vaccinated for everything again. I've asked the doctor and all I get is that there is nothing that supports it being a higher risk. Have you heard any differently?

I wouldn't do it. I would request a blood titer test. No need to have extra aluminum and formaldehyde injected into your kids unless it is necessary.
Do you know if they were up to date? Then there should be no question about what they still need.

I'm not sure how safe it is for them to be revaccinated but if the doctor says that there is no risk you might have to trust him. Maybe there's some kind of test they could take to see what shots they've had.
If they are revaccinated make sure to keep your own records and write down what shots they had and the dates. It's always a good idea to keep your own records and put them in a safe spot.

I completely agree with rocy114. If you get your child a shot when they already received it, you're really putting their health safety at risk and it could be lethal!

I would not allow my child to be vaccinated for the same thing, what is the reasoning behind it? Most of the medical practictioners normally ask to see your chart before doing anything and I think it is for a reason. They don't want to do it twice.

As already mentioned, you can have them tested for titers instead. This basically is a way of testing whether or not their body has mounted a sufficient response to the shots they have received so far, for them to be considered up to date.
This is accepted by schools in lieu of a shot record. Ask the doc for the tests, and don't let them push you into extra shots.

I personally keep copies of all my son's records of everything. I'm a 1st time mommy so I'm pretty anal about everything. But I wouldn't do it twice.
