Chronic Leg Pain
|
|
My son who is 10 goes through bouts of leg pain that just puts him in tears this has been going on for several years. I've taken him in numerous times and I just keep being told that it is "growing pains" they never check. Anyone else go through this with your kids?

When a kid has so much pain that he is in tears and your doctor says it's just growing pains, then it might be time to get a new doctor.
Even if it is growing pains, he is in pain and something has to be done to help him. It's not all right for anyone to have to suffer.
He could have arthritis or some other bone or joint problems. Any doctor that just dismisses pain should have a good talking to.

I don't have kids yet, but since I was very young I've had the same problem. I never went to get it checked out though I just deal with it. They can get very bad though, I used to cry through them too.

It is really hard for me to watch and not be able to do anything for him. I'll watch him cry himself to sleep when they start acting up then he whimpers while he's asleep and that just breaks my heart.
I've also taken him into the E-Room they did X-rays but when those were clean said the same thing "Probably just growing pains" I thin the "Probably" that they all throw in there is what makes me the most uneasy.
