Children's aspirin and Reyes' Syndrome

Is there a certain age where this is no longer a concern or are there times when children can safely have aspirin? I was told a long time ago never to give my children aspirin so I've always used children's acetaminophen. I only ask because I noticed it was still being sold at the store as children's aspirin.

FDA recommends that aspirin and combination products containing aspirin not be given to children under 19 years of age during episodes of fever-causing illnesses.
