Subject: Patient Assistance Program

You guys do know about the drug companies patient assistance programs don't you. Most all of the big pharmaceutical manufacturer's have a program that you can sign up for and will provide their drugs to you free of charge if you qualify. Ask your doctor, they may be of assistance or if they can't help, contact the manufacturer themselves. You may be eligible for free drugs.

Hey thanks! I didn't know about this. I think I'll call my doctor and see if I can get my Plavix. It costs me an arm and a leg and it really makes it hard to afford other necessities. I didn't know that they even had anything like this.

Good information Sammy! I knew this but I have decent insurance so I'm OK. I didn't think to post this though. It doesn't hurt to check with your doctor to see if you can get some help if you need it.

I knew about the discounts but not a full out right free Rx. That is kind of a shocker since I know many people right now are being toyed with by insurance companies and sometimes its better to go without any (and get a discount) that end up paying a ton more than really needed.

I honestly did not know about this. I have an Aunt who is getting up there in age and struggling to make ends meet every month. I will have to look into this for her because I know her perscription costs are adding up.

I knew about it but the requirements are different for each company. You really have to have someone who knows what they are doing in order to get the forms filled out and to meet the requirements but in the end, if you get the prescription free, it's worth it.

It seems like the more government programs out there the harder it is to figure out exactly what you are doing, how you qualify, if there is anything else needed. Worse than doing taxes no doubt.

The local Salvation Army in my area has a good handle on the programs that are available. My wife is a retired nurse so I will learn of programs from her sometimes. We are both covered under the Medicare drug assistance program so we don't have any trouble but it is nice to know that there is something available if we need it.
