Subject: | Whole Food Vitamins | |
With all the increase in talk about health and nutrition, we hear a lot more talk about natural alternatives. I have heard a lot of talk recently about whole food vitamin supplements versus synthetic based vitamins and supplements. Has anyone tried the whole food supplements and have you noticed in substantial difference in the way you feel? |

When you say whole food vitamins, does that mean vitamins that get the nutrients naturally versus synthetic means? I have never heard this term before. |

Yes! A friend of mine, Cary (not this Cary ha...but a different Cary Byrd)set me up with some whole food supplements from Standard Process and they did wonders for me. The difference between getting only one component of the Vitamin and getting all of the components is astounding. Unfortunately the FDA says that in order to call something a vitamin or supplement you only need a particular component...and not the whole thing...is ridiculous. The industry is a scam. People spend oodles of money on say oh Vitamin C...they aren't getting the whole Vitamin and all like..I think i'ts 15 components..they are only getting the one component the FDA says is necessary to call it Vitamin C..ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is NOT Vitamin C. Your body needs all 15 of those components to properly absorb the goodness of Vitamin C. Other factors influence how your body takes in (or doesn't) nutrients...such as sugar intake and habits like smoking cigarettes. Proper nutritional uptake really requires a good solid diet of whole unprocessed foods with little sugar, sweets and processed carbs and if you can't do that then at least take whole vitamin supplements instead of throwing your money into a black hole and getting nothing in return by buying crappy "vitamins" from your local supermarket. There are quite a few brands of Vitamin C that offer the whole Vitamin.. They taste good too! For other vitamins go with Standard Process brand or one that is similar. |
