Subject: Who has used essential oils?

Another topic made me start thinking about tea tree oil, which I am a big fan of - it's got lots of uses. I have been a fan of aromatherapy and the general use of essential oils for years, and I thought I'd ask if anyone else here uses them? If so, what have you used essential oils for?

My favorites:

Lavender oil- a few drops on a cotton ball, to breathe in when feeling stressed, or to help induce sleep.

Peppermint oil- a few drops of this mixed into a thick lotion base for a wonderful reviving lotion. I've also used Peppermint oil in the bathtub, but it has to be very little or it can burn the skin.

Eucalyptus oil- when suffering from a stuffy nose , inhale this oil(a few drops on a cotton ball or you can put 10 drops in boiling water and then inhale the steam), and it will clear the sinuses.

I have used both lavender and eucalyptus in a hot bath to relieve stress and sinus congestion. It just takes a couple drops to do the trick.

I have a tube of sage and rose oil I bought already made up that is supposed to help PMS. Since I'm past that, I use it to help calm the troubled seas, so to speak. It actually does work for me quite well. This company has a lot of different formulations for different things. I found the stuff in a book store, of all places.

My wife uses Tea Tree Oil for a lot of different things. She also uses oregano oil which is powerful stuff. I don't use much myself except when she is doctoring me.

I will admit I love Lavender oil and its always a nice thing to keep around the house (out of kids reach) for massage night. I have not tested out many others and I might smell fruity after, but the massage is always worth it.
