Subject: | Vitamin E for Scars? | |
Does vitamin E really work for scars? My granddaughter just had knee surgery and she is horrified at the incision. When it heals we were thinking of using vitamin E oil on the area to help the scar to disappear. Does it work or is it an only an old wives' tale? |

I have personally used it and have indeed seen a marked improvement in post surgery scars. I believe that vitamin E is most helpful on new scars, rather than ones which are years old. If your granddaughter were to start faithfully using it daily , I think she would see real improvement in a month or so. |

My mom has used this on us ever since we were little and I would have to say that it definitely does work. It does not work fast nor do I believe it is 100% effective but it does minimize scarring. |

I had pretty good luck with Vitamin E for a scar on my forearm. It was when I was younger and I had cut it with an axe while I was trying to cut firewood. I used Vitamin E consistently and the scar is very light. It is hardly noticeable. |
