Subject: Touch Therapy for pain?

I have heard that touch therapy is widely renown for reducing pain and stress in a persons body. I read a report on it not too long ago and am curious if anyone believes this is true and if anyone has tried it?

My Aunt uses touch therapy to lower her blood pressure and swears by it. She was diagnosed with HB 4 years ago and has not yet had to be put on medication or had any issues with it.

So, I guess I'd have to say that it works for some but maybe not for everyone.

I've never heard of it. What does it entail? I would be interested in learning about it. I like alternative medicine and love to learn about alternative treatments.

Well it depends you can actually place things such as massages and such as touch therapy which work to relieve stress which in turn can lower blood pressure etc, but there is also touch therapy that is centered around a practitioner being able to sense and manipulate bad energy without actually touching the patient.

Factually it most likely works on a mind over matter scenario but whatever it takes to work right? and we all know that the mind is a powerful tool!

It sounds kind of like Reiki healing. I have a friend who suffered from arthritis which was almost crippling, and she had Reiki healing sessions on a regular basis and the improvement is phenomenal. The Reiki healers have to go through a series of certifications and then they use a touch healing process.

Sounds good to me. I'm tired of paying doctors who don't even listen to me. They just assume by looking at me that I'm fat and lazy and that I don't do anything to help myself. I admit, I do weigh more than I should, about 50 pounds, but I do try to eat healthy and I do try to walk for my health. But I have diabetes and high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It seems that the more I try the more things I find out is wrong.

I've heard of Reiki but I didn't know what it entails. Someone had a signature on another board that said they were a Reiki practitioner but I didn't get the chance to ask her what it meant.
