Subject: Spices for Health

I've been reading of certain spices that are particularly important and useful for your health, cumin being one of them. What do you know about others and their effects?

I am not really the best to ask as I have always had issues eating anything too spicy. Even when someone says "thats just a little flavoring" it ends up being too spicy for me.

Some of the spices can actually be taken as supplements so they wouldn't bother your stomach. Garlic is supposed to have a lot of health benefits and it comes in capsule form for those who don't actually cook with it. I use garlic all the time but I don't really know if the powdered form retains the healthful properties or not.

I know that some things, like ginger is good for the stomach, and honey is good if you have a H Pilori infection (that leads to a stomach ulcer). Otherwise I haven't much looked into this.
