I was just talking with a friend who mentioned she's been having sinusitis now that the trees are in bloom. I had to tell her my lifesaver - the Neti Pot. I believe it started in ayurveda. It's a little pot you put saline solution in (just saltwater) and lean your head forward, tilt to the side, and pour it through one nostril and it comes out the other. I used to get sinus infections all spring and fall, but since discovering the Neti (10 years ago), I haven't had any.

How do you succeed at this? I have heard of this and I can get it to go in the one nostril all right but it doesn't come out the other one.

This is kind of weird. I've never heard of this before and would be interested to hear a few more specific details. I usually just take a Claritin and I'm fine.

Claritin is good relief. My friend uses Benadryl for allegeries - I think it may work the best.

The neti pot is supposed to work wonders but I can't get the hang of it. Usually the water goes down my throat instead of out the other nostril.

My doctor prescribed Nasonex for me and that works well.

I need this! I am fighting with some sinus craziness. I woke Monday with a sore left jaw, oddly like you feel its going to pop. Tues/Weds was stuffed head to the top, then last few days its jaw pain on the right side with constant pressure. Is there a trick to getting used to this?

My naturopath showed me how to use it the first time, but I just went over to youtube and searched for neti pot, and a wealth of clips came up on how to use it, so take a look there. :)

I love my neti pot! I ordered mine from Amazon.com. They have a variety of styles and you can order the salt as well.It's easy to use too. Mainly it's head position and breathing out of your mouth when doing it.Maybe I'm odd but I love how it comes out of the other nostril. You dont even need to use it just for sinus's. It sure helps.But, it's used to clear the nasal passage ways and remove dirt that builds up. Just remember to never use hot water.

I live in a part of Australia that has crazy pollen counts. I'm always having trouble with allergies and sinusitis.

I'll do a search on a neti pot and see if that helps :)
