Subject: | Sinus wash | |
Hi everyone, I used to have terrible allergies attacks that would invariably lead to sinus infections which meant going to the doctor and getting antibiotics. I finally got fed up with that process and did some research on the Internet and discovered sinus washes. These have helped ease my symptoms quite substantially. I'm not saying this is for everyone, but if you have bad allergies like I used to have, it might be worth considering. |

I think I'd rather suffer. I hate anything up my nose as I've had a couple of bad experiences with liquid in my nose from swimming. I've tried nasal sprays and everything seems to run down the back of my throat. Just the thought of it puts a bad taste in my mouth. I'm glad you found some relief though. George |

I've seen much talk of the netti pot but it's also not really the sort of thing I am into either. I hate the idea of snorting a fluid-much too Abyss! |

The sinus wash works better than you think it might, although the side effects come with an adverse taste as the residue may enter the oral cavity, the effects are worthwhile! I have used this product on two occasions, and although difficult to get used to - it is well worth the bad taste for a couple of moments! |

I've never heard of a Sinus Wash. What is it? How does it work? My boyfriend has been sick for over a week now, he's very stuffy, bad headaches, basically just sinus stuff. If this is stuff you can buy at a pharmacy then I'll look into it for him. So please tell me about it. |

I use a netti pot with the sinu-cleanse and it does wonders for me. I have chronic sinusitis and it actually helps reduce the inflammation. |

K to the J... With a sinus wash, you can use a mixture of baking soda and salt to rinse out your sinuses. The first time I tried it was at my allergist's office nearly 20 years ago. He used something like a waterpic filled with warm saline solution to rinse my sinuses. So that's what I now use. However, you can find netti pots at natural food stores. If you want to make your own solution for the wash, do an Internet search for sinus wash solution or something like it. Hope it helps your boyfriend. |

I picked up a netti pot and the 100% safe solution from my local supermarket near all the sinus sprays. I have also seen them at Wal-Mart as well. |

Yes, it does work. Netipot has been used by centuries in India. Even though it might look funny to you, a lot of people are having many successes with it. Checkout his link for more info. http://acnemine.com/interest.htm |

I wonder if sinus washes just help with symptoms, while you're addressing the underlying issue.... What's causing these infections? |

It is not always infections but often it is simply irritation from common things like -dust-smoke-dirt heat etc. And at least with the sinu cleanse that I use it helps reduce swelling brought on by those irritants. |
