Subject: | Pills for bruises | |
I get bruises frequently and went to a local pharmacist and asked them if they knew of any pills to get bad bruises to go away, he looked at me like I was crazy? So, are there really any pills that can make bruises go away quickly? If so, let me know :) |

I've not heard of any. My wife bruises real easy because of the breathing medications she takes. All she has to do is bump something and later on it will look like she got hit by a train. |

I've never heard of any either. Like tmo mentioned, there are pills that cause people to be more likely to bruise, but I don't think there's anything to take care of them after they're formed. Next time, maybe you should ask what you can do to help prevent easy bruising....there may be something you can do health-wise that would make it less likely for you to get them. |

I found out later that the pills are called Artika. They are supposed to work, but then again you can only get them at herbal stores.. I wonder if they really work? |

Could you mean to say Arnica. I have heard of Arnica salves for external healing of bruises and sprains. It helps relieve rheumatic pain, or where ever there is pain and/or inflammation on the skin. I have never heard of it in a pill. |

Arnica is AWESOME. I put the gel on my jaw after having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and no bruising (dispite my anemia!). I highly recommend it. You can also get it in tablet form. |

Arnica is sold in a milk tablet from most health food stores and other stores that stock natural medicines. They normally come in the little blue tubes from Boiron, or another brand I can't think of off the top of my head (we liked them less anyway). My grocery store actually sells a double pack of a tube of gel and tablets for around $15 which is a bargain. The milk tablets used to come in two strengths but they only seem to make the weaker ones now. It is made to work on bruising, trauma, etc. I started using it for bruises after falling off horses as a teen, and always had great results. My mom's herbalist suggested it when she worked at Walmart and got bruised from throwing truck. I've had complete results in a couple days if I didn't get it on quick enough, to never developing a bruise if I got it on immediately and of course a reduction in soreness of the muscles. |
