Subject: Natural Sleepiness Remedies

I'm up at gone 4am and cannot sleep-have been up for several hours for the third day running. I need to sleep better-what works for you, without being habit forming?

What about warm milk? As nasty as it sounds for an adult I have tried this before along with a hot shower to relax me. And have the alarm on if you are waking that early too!

Honey works well for me, sometimes I have it in a warm beverage, other times I have a spoon full, when I go off to sleep I sleep through the night and has to use an alarm to wake me in the morning.

You can also try having the bedroom especially ready. No bright white lights, only yellow as this encourages melatonin production. If you are one of the people who just doesn't make melatonin, try supplementing.

I never really thought that much about using a vaporizer but it does make sense. When my roomie has this issue she uses something similar but its with a lavender smell.

I take a hot bath with just a few drops of peppermint oil mixed in, right before bed. Dark, cool rooms are the best to sleep in. And no t.v., although a radio played on a low volume (no rap) can help soothe.
