Subject: Improving your memory

As you may have guessed by my avatar, I have a bit of a lack of memory. I chalk it up to having had four children: each one stole brain cells!

Anyway, are there any supplements I can take for memory that are safe?

Ginkgo Biloba is probably the most talked about memory enhancer on the market. My Aunt is into supplements and vitamins and she swears by it.

I say the same thing except I add in husbands...lol. None of the supplements are proven but there is anecdotal evidence that they may help some people. I found out as an adult that I have ADD so believe me, I understand memory issues. The best suggestion I can give you is to make paper and pen your best friends. I keep a little memo pad and write down things I have to do, that I want to check out, etc. You just have to get into a habit of doing it and of reading it every morning.

I understand! I can consciously feel my brain not working quite like it used to. There was a time that my brain processes the simplest things so quickly, and now sometimes I just can't seem to put my finger on the solution to things. I have heard that there are mental exercises you can do, such as playing games and doing word puzzles, that will help to improve your memory and other brain processes.

I have heard their are many different time of supplements, but having a good memory sometimes can be done by association of other things. It has worked for me.

Many people swear by Gingko Biloba.

I wonder if you aren't expecting too much of yourself, though? Keeping a small flip cover tablet and jotting down things you truly need to remember is an excellent method for keeping track of things, without having them stored in your mind.

You can even make your own with some polymer clay and a bit of creativity!

Doing memory tests daily will help with your memory as the main reason it goes is because we let it get weak.

what kind of memory tests are you all talking about? I would love to do memory exercises. I guess I'm off to google.

And thanks on the gingo biloba. I'd heard that one before, but of course, I forgot the name! :D

I am great fan of the phase `use it or you loose it`.

I often do crosswords and soduko puzzles to keep my mind working, after all it is a part of the body too and it needs a good workout.
