Subject: | Heavy metal poisoning | |
So, this friend of mine was having all these fatigue issues and saw a bunch of different doctors (all kinds). Finally, she saw this nutritionist/chiro who told her she had heavy metal poisoning and put her on this cleanse that she's been on for over a year. She says it's working and making a huge difference, but I look at her and she looks the worse I've ever seen her--underweight, dark circles under her eyes, super low energy. No matter what I say to her, she insists this treatment is great. I almost feel like doing an intervention. |

Any idea how the friend got this in the first place? I hear about it sometimes, but most places never tell you "how it happened". Another thing people think of with those symptoms is being anaemic, did they check for that as well? |

Ok well if she really does have heavy metal poisoning then it can be tested with conventional medicine. If it turns out to be the case, then it can be treated-and so really I would say that its not a case for alternative medicine. Especially if she is looking so rough. |

While a doctor of naturopatheic medicine might be able to adequately treat your friend, they would be the first to tell her that no one should be on any type of cleanse for over a year. A cleanse is a short-term process that can be repeated but most naturopatheic doctors that I have spoken to do not recommend a cleanse continue for longer than 30 days at a time. A nutritionist/ chiropractor may or may not also be liscensed in naturopatheic medicine. |

I have heard about the canned tuna also, but I thought that was some kind of a hoax. Apparently not, a lot of people are talking about it. |

The mercury in fish is a real phenomenon-a genuine problem and not BS. Look up Minamata disease-wiki link here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minamata_disease You can see that the mercury was deliberately discharged into the water-and where do you think it has since gone? I am willing to bet others still discharge it, and no body of water in the world is completely isolated from the others. Big fish are more of a danger, and detritus eaters too. This is because it accumulates as it goes up the food chain, becoming more concentrated. And detritus eaters eat all the junk including the waste from these highly toxic specimen. For the record no one is testing tuna before they can them so yes, polluted fish are sold. This is why pregnant women are told not to eat more than one serving of tuna a week. |
