Subject: | Emotional Freedom Technique | |
My wife and I came across Gary Craig's website several months ago and downloaded his free EFT manual. The best way to describe this is a combination of pressure points, energy fields (chi) and affirmations. Gary believes that almost all of our health issues are due to some type of emotional trauma and that has been repressed. By releasing the emotional trauma we free our bodies to start healing itself. |

Your emotional health does affect your general health. I know when I am stressd out, I have a major shingles outbreak. When I am calm and in good spirits they are just drying up and healing. I can also tell how it affects my glucose readings and what I crave. I am havinga itme balancing it out. As soosn as I find out we have alull, we get mroe work and thast good cause its mroe money, but it stresses me to try and get everything done. And my best emotional helath and happines sis when I am crafting! I zen when i do it. |

I think that stress brings on alot of unwanted health problems, however I am not so sold that relaxing pressure points and energy fields is going to do all that much. |

I know their is at least a basis in scientific fact behind pressure points but I've yet to see anything proven about "energy fields" so I don't buy into that too much. I do know that stress can cause or contribute to many health issues so I think anything that lets us be as stress-free as possible is a good thing. |

I think everyone has their right to go with what's best for them from a medical perspective. As for me, EFT brings about some of the practices from my Chinese culture. All I know is that I've been able to resolve some issues/pain with this. Whether it's placebo effect or what, I don't care because it worked for me. |

I've never heard of this although it sounds interesting. I've always been a bit busy to keep up with things such as meditation, acupuncture, etc but it does always make me feel better when I have any time to put toward it. |

I totally agree that emotions and turmoil can make us sick. What I don't understand is how pressure points can cause bottled up turmoils to be released. Not sure I go for this at all. |

Until I do more research into this person's theory I can't say if I think it will work or not. But as he is willing to share some of his findings for free and that trying to use pressure points can't be harmful, and that there has been research that does show that they laying of hands on someone can help them heal faster, and that Depak Chopra has endorsed it, I say -- It can't hurt, why not try it? |

Hi Skatts, That was pretty much my approach, too. I read the stuff on his website and downloaded his book. I even went so far as to go into Youtube and type in EFT to look for videos of explanations of how to do it and what it can be applied towards. I figured, well, it's non-invasive and it's free, so why not? |

Emotional stress and health can extremely hurt or improve your body, whether you have good emotional health, or emotional stress of course. There are many pressure points you can concentrate on to relieve stress. Can you tell us some of the main ones that maybe you think we wouldn't know about? What can you do exactly to relieve a lot of the stress? |

I'd have to agree with you, DianaR, that if I have a broken bone, no amount of EFT will heal the bone faster. However, Gary Craig does suggest trying it on everything and anything because you just never know what it will do to help. Just like anything else that I read or use, I take the good from it and discard what I don't want to use. |
