Subject: Detoxifying Your Body

I was just reading an article on eHow about How to naturally detoxify your body and it talked about foods and activities that helped flush toxins from your body.

I am curious if this really could help to prevent a lot of the conditions that we face such as cancer, colds, flu's etc.

What do you think - does it help? and how often should it be done?

I don't know if there is any proof-proof but I have a detoxification ritual that I do at least once a year and shortly after I am done it is like I am a whole new person.

I rarely get sick but I still do get a cold the kids bring home about once a year. However, outside of my once a year ritual I am not really great about vitamins and doing things to prevent from getting sick so once a year is still pretty good!

I would rather go the natural route that some of these crazy things I see on the market, most of them are super expensive and it worries me that its all just hype to sell the stuff and not something that would be safe to your body (not harsh that is).

What is your detoxification routine?

I have heard of people doing this, but I have been scared to do it. Doesn't it take like a week or so?

I've been interested in trying this as well. I think the length of the detoxifying program can depend, some are more intense than others. I'll admit I'm a bit scared as well to try it. Seems the benefits are well worth it , however.

I'm a little skeptical of detoxification programs. I find a lot of them seem more hype than results. I'm not that quick to part with my money for something that often relies only on testimonials rather than facts.

Have any of you seen those patches you put on the sole of your feet that are meant to detoxify your body? I saw them at the drugstore recently and they look like a relatively painless way to try detoxification.

I always seem to hear the most about drinking cranberry juice, but I thought this was only for clearing out some parts of the body not all of it???

What do you think?
