Subject: Bee Venom Therapy

I've heard of this before but because severe arthritis is generally not an issue in my family I didn't give it much thought. My wife however has a lot of problems with arthritis. I rediscovered this surfing the net. Basically ingredients in the bee venom have powerful anti inflammatory and pain blocking properties. Here is a link to an article on the subject: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=50602

That is a really good article . I had heard of it before in connection with my mom, who suffers from MS. They have used bee venom therapy with some success with MS patients and she has been reading up on it. She is considering giving it a try.

How long does it last for and what other option would you have if you had a fear of this, any? It sounds interesting but I would be a little shy to try it myself.

This is actually the first time that I have heard about this form of therapy. I was amazed reading through that article, I am always awe struck by the new developements that come out. I am curious to see how well this therapy holds out in the future.

I saw a documentary several years ago that talked about alternative therapies and it talked about this. There were quite a few people who were using this and they said they had really good results with it. I wouldn't be adverse to trying it if I really needed it.

I think I saw that documentary too. It was very interesting and the people who were interviewed were very positive about the therapy. I don't think it would hurt unless you happened to be allergic to bee stings. I would try it if I had something that it would help with.

My initial introduction to this was a documentary I saw something like twenty five years ago on arthritis. I sure this was the stone age for this particular therapy. They were actually having the bees sting the subjects in and around the affected joints. According to the documentary people noticed that bee keepers who obviously get stung periodically have a lower rate of arthritic problems than the general public.

Haven't seen that documentary but I have heard that if you use local honey that is made in your area it can help reduce your allergies.
