Subject: | Acupuncture for infertility? | |
A friend of mine is struggling with infertility and repeated pregnancy loss. She's started working with a naturopath and has found she has some food allergies that may be effecting her ability to conceive and maintain a pregnancy. Her naturopath suggested a acupuncturist too. Has anyone else gone this route and had success? |

I could see the food allergies affecting her but I've never heard of using Acupuncture for infertility. I honestly don't see how it could work, but who knows? With all the advances in healthcare we have today, be it medicinally or homeopatically, it may be something to consider. |

I have heard of women having acupuncture in order to become pregnant. It's been used for centuries, along with herbal medicines, to help women become pregnant. Of course it won't work if there is something seriously wrong and you need an operation but if a woman is healthy there's no reason not to try it. |

I agree it has been around for a long time and is definitely worth a shot. After repeated losses too the mind comes into play and so if your friend truly believes this can help then good chance it can. |

Is your friend of a normal weight for height? A friend of mine that was trying to conceive was a bit overweight when they first tried, but after she lost 50 pounds she had no problem at all getting pregnant. |

I have a difficult time understanding how acupuncture can help in this situation. What is are the treatments supposed to accomplish? |
