Why we slept less when we aged?

Does anyone know the answer? Why do we sleep less when we get older? Is it the hormonal change in our body that make us so? I'm sure going to miss all those sleeps of mine as sleeping is my favorite hobby!

When you're a baby you sleep a lot, When you get older you don't need as much sleep. I don't think it's hormonal just that as you age you don't need the sleep. Maybe it's because you're not as active.

I am not sure people don't sleep as much, unless we're separating from toddler age on from before toddler. I have slept about the same since I was a little kids.

Zebra, how old are you? You are sure very lucky as you are able to sleep as much as when you are a baby.

Skatss, is baby active? No? Then why do they sleep so much?

I know as I got older I sleep a lot less. I wish I could sleep longer, but just cannot seem too.
