Cold turkey, that must have been hard. How did you do that? Did you have any anxiety or problems quitting? Was it easy for you? I have tried quitting but am still unsuccessful in my attempts. I heard it causes wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.

It wasn't hard at all. Just up and quit one day. I still like the smell of cigarettes. I don't know why though. weird huh?

So you didn't plan to quit smoking? Did anything lead you up to quitting? I wish it was easy for me. I have tried the patches, gum and am thinking about a drug my Doctor talked about. What an idea drugs to stop smoking?

Good for you! You are very lucky as most people find cold turkey impossible. I haven't been able to do cold turkey but am working on it. Statistics show most people try and fail several times and it commonly takes a year to completely quit.

Both my parents smoked as I was growing up. I hated the smell and was always opening up the windows. My sister and I have never smoked.
Quitting smoking cold turkey must have been really hard. I give you lots of credit.

Congratulation. It is not easy for most. My Dad tried for years to quit without success. One day he quietly stopped cold turkey and never looked back. His younger brother took a lot longer to quit and you can see the difference. Not only that my Uncle had to undergo triple bypass surgery and my Dad's ticker is just fine. Easy or hard it is an accomplishment you won't regret.

That is great Jenbear. You are a success story for those of us still trying to quit. Hopefully one day I can be the topic of this success story.

Does your boyfriend smoke around you? If so, that would make it seem so hard to stay away from it. Do you crave it when he is around?

No, I have no craving around it. I just love the smell of them. I can't explain why.

This is what exactly my husband had done the moment he proposed me before marriage, I don't like to smoke and didn't wish that he too smoke. Before I could even ask he quit for me and now its almost 5 yrs.
