I understand why parents and family members do not like watching the Viagra ads during family TV time and to my understanding they can now only be displayed after 10pm, see this article:

But what is not mentioned here are the tampon ads that air during all hours of the day. My son has asked me several times what they are for?

So what is the difference between Viagra commercials and Tampon ones?
