I have been in big pharma as a rep for over 30 years. I find the exact opposite of what Ms. Olsen states. Currently I am directed to talk at length about side effects that are both uncommon, common and blatantly obvious. In fact if I spend 5 minutes with a physician 2 of them are spent discussing side effects. Some companies do not stress the latter but fair balance tips the scale at my company – and it is one of the companies Ms. Olsen worked for. Big pharma has a myriad of problems, most spearheaded by big pharma itself but fair balance currently is not one of them.
