Additional Comments:  Zithromax is one of those drugs that many plans do not cover, and the expense is high. It is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Although expensive, it is one of the most effective antibiotics that I have come into contact with. It can take down the worst of infections, and the strongest of coughs! It is effective in treating respiratory infections and although the antibiotic may begin to work quickly it is important to finish the dosage prescribed. Unlike other antibiotics it is important to take this one - BEFORE meals - this will ensure that it is absorbed properly into your system. While taking Zithromax it is important to avoid antacids as they decrease the effects.

Positive Aspects of Zithromax:  Cured my upper respiratory infection quickly

Reason for taking Zithromax:  Extremely bad couch and upper respiratory infection

Additional Comments:  Zithromax did a wonderful job of curing my upper respiratory infection and horrible cough. I was very sick for a week before I started this. I began taking it, and was then better within 3 days. (Of course I finished the antibiotic as instructed!). The only bad thing is that it's very expensive, and even with my prescription discount plan it was still about $50.00. However, I'd say it was well worth it considering how ill I was and how quickly it acted.
