Positive Aspects of Synthroid:  It keeps me alive.

Negative Aspects of Synthroid:  It tends to keep me awake if I don't take it first thing in the morning.

Reason for taking Synthroid:  Replaces the hormone my thyroid gland doesn't make.

Additional Comments:  I've taken synthroid for years. At age 7, it was determined that my thyroid gland did not work, and that was one of the reasons I was so short.

Reason for taking Synthroid:  Thryroid Replacement Therapy

Additional Comments:  When I was 17 I had to have my thyroid gland surgically removed. I have taken Synthyroid as a replacement hormone since my surgery with no side effects.
