Positive Aspects of Ferrous sulfate:  Helped bring my iron levels up to safety

Negative Aspects of Ferrous sulfate:  Severely constipating

Reason for taking Ferrous sulfate:  Severe post-natal anemia

Additional Comments:  My doctor gave me this after my second pregnancy as my anemia became severe. I got so constipated that I was in pain all the time and almost ended up with bowel damage. There is a better form that I later found out which is ferrous gluconate which adds something so you don't get constipated. I don't understand why doctors would give the sulfonate at all.
