Positive Aspects of Advil:  This anti inflammatory helps relieves minor aches, pains, headaches, and helps reduce swelling.

Negative Aspects of Advil:  None that I can tell.

Reason for taking Advil:  I use this sometimes after a hard day on the basketball court to reduce minor aches and pains

Additional Comments:  I was looking on the Advil website and I noticed that this drug may cause stomach bleeding because it contains a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID. You increase your risk if you are... - 60 years of age or older and have had bleeding problems or stomach ulcers. - Taking a blood thinning agent (anticoagulant) or steroid drug. - Taking any other drugs containing an NSAID; such as: aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc... - Drinking 3 or more alcoholic beverages every day while you are taking this medication. - Taking more advil than directed or take it for a longer time than directed.

Reason for taking Advil:  Pain

Additional Comments:  I took this drug after a day of hard work when my body was aching. It didn't really take any effect, I took two in the morning, than two again in the afternoon. The pain that I had been experiencing was general muscle ache - therefore I thought Advil would do the trick. I was wrong. It made me sick to my stomach - I didn't have anything in my stomach - close to the point of being nauseous. For a bottle of one hundred it's a great deal but I don't think that they are strong enough for the pain that I was in. I would be doubtful that it would work for headaches. It is important to avoid Advil if you have stomach ulcer or bleeding problems - as well as if you are allergic to NSAIDs.

Additional Comments:  I take Ibuprofen for just about any ache and pain and it always does a great job for me. I do have to make sure I eat something so it doesn't upset my stomach. Tylenol just doesn't seem to help me any more.

Additional Comments:  I have actually taken Advil for several different types of pain with very poor results. It has never releived my headaches, muscle or joint pain.

Positive Aspects of Advil:  Convenient to take and did not give me any side effects

Negative Aspects of Advil:  May as well have been taking water.

Reason for taking Advil:  Back pain

Additional Comments:  Doctor recommended take this as a pain killer because of my minor asthma. According to him it was a better option for me and was supposed to be effective for my back pain. Unfortunately I noted no benefit for my pain whatsoever. I have tried it at other times as well and have not had any success with it at all.

Additional Comments:  I prefer Ibuprofen over Advil, but Advil does help whenever it's the only thing available.
